Interview with Velma Jackson, a clerk, concerning her experiences as a resident of Hamilton Park, Texas from 1956 to 1990. Jackson discusses her youth in East Texas, her employment in Dallas, African-American housing problems, her decision to buy a home in Hamilton Park, home maintenance and improvements, transportation problems, social organizations, Hamilton Park School, church activities, Interorganizational Council and other political activities, zoning problems, Civic League, desegregation of schools, closing of the junior high and high school, Pacesetter, and the "Buy Out."
